Probably because the client has to manually create database resources and pools on the entire Glassfish server, like here

In Netbeans -> Projects, Open Server -> resources Glassfish-resources.xml. We need to manually create a JDBC resource and a connection to the Glassfish pool. At this point, if I’m using custom values, don’t use them, see Ones .xml!

The value is your JDBC resource jndi-name and the pool-name value will be your JDBC connection pool.

Switch to JDBC for Connection Pool New: 1) -> Pool Name: mysql_customersdb_rootPool 2) Resource Type: javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource 3) Database Driver Provider: MySql

How to deploy to a remote server (GlassFish)?

I’ve always tried to learn J2EE and would like our family to provide an example application that would become a remote server. I have configured the server (Remote GlassFish And 3) and I know that it works. I already have a server description created in Netbeans Normally; I see it as “run” in the application’s properties. But when I try to use it, I just get an error:

    compile-jsps:
    /u01/repo/root/staf/glassfish/docs/javaee-tutorial/examples/web/hello1/nbproject/build-impl.xml error:683: deployment:
Running server not yet supportedaet hag. Please start the server manually.
See the server log for details.

This tells me that many of your settings are wrong for remote hosts.
Although you can’t remotely disable a server, you can add one if deployed with
Netbeans and see their status (c , select etc. ). Glassfish with your remote server in netbeans under Services->Servers, you should
show the host for your remote Glassfish. Right click it, click then select
“Refresh” and you can just click the “+” and open the node at the top and
see the resources associated with the server on the remote machine. If it doesn’t work,
    deployment probably won’t work either.

I’m trying to follow the J2EE tutorial on the server, and it requires me to use only the sample
application for the remote machine. I have set up a remote computer help server (GlassFish
    3) and I know its properties I have created a demoserver in NetBeans; I no longer see the properties of most of the application, other than “Running”. But when I try to
publish, I just get an error:

nbproject build impl xml 683 deployment error

IHi brett – wouldn’t see anything in services. -> do you mean “server”? “tools” This is usually the last node remote for the server, but nothing happens when I click on it (I currently have NetBeans 6.9.BTW)

one Yes, I did a “server” from the drive when I was not behind this computer. Since
nothing happens, your Ne absolut remote server may not be registered correctly. Let me take a look at the setup of what I have here, not to mention I’ll
    see something useful.
